Punjab Setback: Coalition partners meet today to devise future strategy

After suffering a decisive defeat at the hands of PTI in the Punjab by-election in Lahore, the hub of PML (N), the leaders of Pakistan Democratic Movement and other coalition parties will hold a meeting in Lahore later today to plan out future strategy.

Information Minister Marriuym Aurangzeb said that PDM heads will meet today at the invitation of the Prime Minister. She explained that the current political situation and other important matters will be discussed at the meeting.

On the other hand, PPP emphasized that the federal government should complete its term, and hold the general elections after introducing electoral reforms. The Chief Election Commission of the PPP supported the decision of standing with the coalition partners and stand by any decision that is made during the meeting.
