Hanging coffin performed in Eastern China, Jiangxi

Performers begin the installation of hanging coffins at the Dragon and Tiger Mountains in East China. The Hanging Coffin tradition in China is an ancient custom of ethnic minorities. The coffin hanging is one of the funeral practices. It is believed that if the dead are placed at a higher level, they have more chances of reaching a higher nature in the afterlife.
Apart from China, Indonesia, and the Philippines also practice the funeral ritual.
