Do you have an everyday morning skin care routine? But it is so long that you only do it one the weekends, or have to get up 3 hours earlier to do it properly. With a good morning routine you prepare your face for the day, but also for the future.
Here are a few benefits of having an everyday morning routine:

- It helps to moisturize your skin, and protect skin barrier.
- It improves health of facial skin.
- Reduced look of wrinkles and fine lines.
- It boosts your self confidence.
- It is a way to practice self-care
But know one thing, the morning skincare routine and the night time skin routine are two different things. In the morning you are preparing your skin for sun damage, pollution and makeup. At night, you are preparing your skin to repair itself.
So here is a simple but effective everyday morning routine you should follow:
Hydrate
Start by drinking a glass of water. As soon as you wake up, hydrate. It helps to rid your body of toxins quicker, and kick starts your metabolism. Hydration is specially important for us Pakistanis, considering the dry climate.
Hydrating also prevents pimples and acne, and increases the elasticity of your skin.
Use a Mild Cleanser
Washing your face in the morning cleans the dirt and sweat build up from last night. Use a gentle cleanser for washing your face with circular finger motion. Pat dry your face with a wash cloth or a tissue paper.
Apply a Toner
Next is toner. But it is not a mandatory step. Toners help to remove any remaining impurities from your skin, and tighten your pores.
Apply a Serum or Moisturizer
Assess your skin type and preference buy a serum, facial oil or moisturizers to make sure your skin remains hydrated. Vitamin C is a great option for acne prone and dry skin.
Apply Sunscreen
Last and the most important step for you is sunscreen. It is the key to flawless, soft and clear skin. Use a sunblock with SPF 30 or above. Apply a thin layer all over your face, including eyelids, and neck. Remember to re-apply sunblock every two to three hours for maximum benefit.

Caring for your skin is an instrumental part of living a healthy, and wholesome life. Cleansing, toning, moisturizing followed by sunscreen will help protect the skin barrier, and do not require a lot of time. South Asian skin is more exposed to scorching sun, and pollution.
