Newly unsealed pre-trial documents from Depp vs Heard defamation case show Depp’s lawyers wanted to bring up Amber Heard’s previous job as an exotic dancer and escort in court. Her team ountered it as a malicious attempt to thrash Heard’s image.
Thousands of pages of filings from months of proceedings have been unsealed in which the court documents detailed an instance where Depp’s team tried to submit “naked pictures” of Heard. His team also tried submitting evidence of “Amber’s brief stint as an exotic dancer years before she met Mr. Depp”. Her team said Depp’s team is ”frivolously and maliciously suggest or imply that Ms. Heard”
They further claimed that it was inappropriate to bring up, ”irrelevant personal matters” during the trial which was streamed live, and televised worldwide.
After Judge Azcarate denied Heard’s request for a mistrial, the 36 years old actress has since started an appeal process on the verdict believing “the court made errors that prevented a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment.”
A spokesperson for Heard said about appealing ” we believe the court made errors that prevented a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment.”
